Deep Learning-Based Automatic Fake News Recognition on Online Social Networks
Political news, celebrity information, and product advertisements have all become more common in recent years as Online Social Networks (OSNs) have grown in popularity. Unfortunately, the dissemination of misleading information has affected various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Using a combination of user profile and news content data, this study proposes an automated fake news detection solution for Facebook in a Chrome environment. Using deep learning methodologies, namely an upgraded bidirectional long short-term memory algorithm, we propose a solution that surpasses existing state-of-the-art methods with 95.4% detection accuracy. The method's effectiveness and robustness are shown experimentally using real-world datasets.
