B-RHL: Design of a Codec Algorithm for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
In this paper, we propose an idea and framework called B-RHL algorithm, which is used to encode and decode communication protocols or redundant information, and is suitable for improving data transmission performance in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) or similar data link. The B-RHL algorithm is based on the optimization and improvement of several typical encoding and decoding algorithms, such as Run Length Coding (RLE), Huffman coding, Lempel Ziv Which (LZW), and combined with the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) characteristics of the terminal in the mobile communication network, the real-time adoption and dynamic combination of several algorithms to realize coding. The performance of the algorithm in dynamic networking scenarios was analyzed and tested, including compression ratio, complexity, encoding and decoding efficiency, and latency. After simulation and experimentation, this algorithm can overcome the performance degradation caused by channel capacity uncertainty, transmission distance variability and dynamic network topology in MANET or other Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) self-organizing communication network. The B-RHL algorithm can also improve the capacity and reliability of network data transmission, and enhance the communication performance of MANET.
