A Secure IoMT Framework for Next-Gen Healthcare Systems Using Machine Learning

Intricate operations of Next-Gen Healthcare Systems (NHS) already pose many security concerns. It allows an attacker to disrupt the functioning of NHS through multiple methods, such as injecting fake data to influence vital signs and manipulating medical equipment to impede the reporting of crucial situations. This study proposes the design of a unique machine learning-based framework, Next-Gen Health, for the protection of Internet of Medical Things devices in Next-Gen Healthcare Systems. Next-Gen Health monitors vital signs collected from multiple IoMT devices to recognize changes in bodily activity, thereby distinguishing between normal functioning and a possible security threat. Performance analysis indicates that Next-Gen Health can reliably detect malicious activity in IoMT 92% of the time, with an F1 score is equal to 90 percent.
