Multi-stage Optimization of Distribution Network PMU Based on Interval State Estimation
As the power distribution networks continue to expand and the distributed energy resources are increasingly integrated, the traditional state estimation method encounters significant challenges in meeting the demands for the highprecision real-time monitoring. In this paper, a multi-stage optimal Phasor Measurement Units (PMU) configuration method for distribution networks based on interval state estimation is proposed. The system uncertainty is quantified by the interval state estimation method. To adjust the position and quantity of PMU dynamically, the multi-stage optimization strategy is integrated. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can reduce the initial investment cost significantly while maintaining a high level of precision. This method may meet the dynamic development requirements of the smart distribution networks effectively. Also, this work provides a practical and scalable solution for state estimation in modern power systems.
