Analysis and Design of Reliable Node Routing Mechanism for MANET using Fuzzy Logic

With the increasing need for real-time applications on mobile devices, there is always an issue to facilitate reliable routing among the mobile devices due to mobility of nodes. This research proposed an approach to find the reliable node in mobile ad-hoc network using fuzzy logic which considers four input variables-signal strength, bandwidth, energy contained in a node, node speed. With the aid of fuzzy logic, a new parameter is generated from fuzzy inference rules known as “node reliability” as output variable. The path that consists of node with more reliability value is selected as a stable route from source to destination over the network. The outcome demonstrated that the performance of the dynamic routing was abundantly enhanced. Therefore, it is feasible that to optimise the routing performance of mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) by implementing a fuzzy logic-based routing system.
