AgroMarket: Empowering Agriculture with Smart Auction

AgroMarket is a web-based auction technology for connecting farmers with buyers to enhance agriculture through direct, transparent, and secure transactions. Logistics and sales of agricultural products are usually aligned with an intermediary, which means farmers do not have a lot of access to the market while buyers cannot buy at competitive prices. AgroMarket helps solve these problems by allowing farmers to post their produce for sale while enabling buyers to bid for them in real-time as well where the process becomes inherently competitive ensuring a fair price. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap for a responsive but user-friendly frontend. Backend functionality regarding user login and data, along with the bidding system, is handled through Flask (Python), while Flask Channels and WebSockets allow for updates to happen in real-time as a live bid occurs. The application uses SQLite as the database to store and retrieve users and products data efficiently, RESTful APIs for proper communication between frontend and backend, and security features such as Flask Authentication and CSRF protection to ensure secure user interactions.
