A New Architecture of 4-Bit Flash ADC with Strong ARM Latch Dynamic Comparator

Analog-to-digital Converters(ADCs) are necessary in today's electronics, converting analog information into digital data for processing and storage. Out of numerous ADC architectures, Flash ADCs are the fastest due to their all-parallel conversion scheme. Their high speed makes them ideal for high-performance applications, including communication systems, radar, imaging, and high-speed data acquisition. However, traditional flash ADCs are power-hungry, primarily due to the simultaneous switching of comparators in large numbers. It is crucial to solve this issue to improve efficiency, especially in power-critical applications like portable electronics and battery-powered devices, where energy reduction is a concern. In comparison to traditional ADCs, the suggested Flash ADC uses less power because it is built with low-power dynamic comparators, it uses less power than traditional ADCs.
