Marker-Based Augmented Reality in Unity: Enhancing Education Through Interactive Visualization
Augmented Reality (AR) is one of the most promising technologies that has the potential to bring revolution in the field of education as it provides an enhanced way of learning. This paper aims to demonstrate how Unity can be used in developing markerbased AR to design effective learning applications. As the conventional teaching methods involve the use of books, black/white chalks, and monotonous lectures, marker-based AR provides the students with a three-dimensional view of the subject matter making learning more interesting. In other words, students can access virtual materials that appear on top of the real environment only with the help of a physical marker. This research shows how a new technological advancement like marker-based AR can address the problems of the conventional education system that is limited to the use of static visuals and passive learning approach by enhancing students' engagement, increasing students' interactions with the content, and providing individualized learning experiences. The findings of this research indicate that AR is also useful in enhancing students' comprehension of difficult concepts as well as their interest and curiosity towards the content which makes the learning experience more engaging and fruitful in different learning environments.
