A trajetória do ensino de História no Brasil (1838-2018)
From the introduction of History as a school subject in Brazil in 1838 to the present, the organization of its curriculum was marked by disputes and tensions, surrounding the selection of knowledge to be taught. History teaching was used at various times as an instrument to legitimize a narrative about the past and disseminate the values and world views of the hegemonic group. The present text aims to analyze the role and purpose of the History school subject in Brazil, through a bibliographical review and the analysis of a set of laws, resolutions and parameters that regulated Brazilian educational policy. Through this study, we hope to present the changes and continuations in the history of History teaching in Brazil.
