Some aspects of ensuring sustainable urban development

The article discusses some aspects related to ensuring the sustainable development of the city. The concept of sustainable development and its fundamental provisions are considered. The current trends in the development of the city of Rostov-on-Don are analyzed, in particular, the relocation of the production base to nearby cities is noted, and it is noted that this negatively affects the economic viability of the city. This fact is compounded by a number of negative factors in ensuring the comfort of living, due to the renovation of the city and serious problems in the city’s transport system. There are increasing demands for electricity and water supply in the city due to a number of factors. It is concluded that it is necessary to review the strategic planning of the city’s development and involve a wider range of people in the work of substantiating the plans. Recommendations are given on developing the city’s recycling economy and increasing jobs in the face of declining industrial production.
