Structural Transition in Dodecaborides According to NMR in LuB12
Analysis of the nuclear magnetic resonance linewidth and spin-lattice relaxation rate of 175 Lu in LuB 12 assumes a structural transition at T *~150 K into a state with a long-range ferrodistortive order of lattice distortions caused by the cooperative Jahn–Teller effect. The reported experimental facts imply this transition to be characteristic of other rare-earth dodecaborides.
