Model Outcome Comparison Analysis of Legal Text Summarization Techniques: Abstractive vs Extractive Approaches
With millions of files existing electronically, lawyers today, face the challenge of locating the relevant material and its retrieval. Creating concise legal text summaries is made easier by automatic summarization, but its drawbacks are apparent. Compressions have the drawback that they are relatively exact in as they take certain sentences, but work only on the language and its construction, but not on the primary content framework. Rephrasing tools such as T5 or BART make the documents more readable, but there are the dangers of changing a legal nuance in meaning or omitting essential facts. It is worth noting, for example, that the evaluation of ROUGE and BLEU confirms these proportionalities. There are also mutual advantages that appear when the two methods are combined, making it easier to deal with legal documents.
