Diagonal Based Clustering Protocol to Enhance the Lifespan of Wireless Sensor Network

Due to their restricted power supply, sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) have a short lifespan. Therefore, to extend the lifespan of WSN, its consumption needs to be optimized. For cluster head selection and effective hop-by-hop transmission in WSN, we have created and put into practice a capable algorithm. Two zones have been created by diagonally dividing the space in our planned work. The zone in which the sensor node is located determines the distance between it and the base station (BS) or the data transfer from SN to BS. Information collected from each SN is forwarded to the appropriate coordinator or CH of each cluster in a cluster-based WSN. The outcomes of the simulation were contrasted with the most advanced algorithms. State-of-the-art algorithms that showed a longer stability period, fewer dead nodes each round, a bigger average energy, and an extended lifetime were compared to the simulation findings.
