Global Resilience Initiative Preventing Illegal Logging and Monitoring Restricted
There have been several newspaper reporting's about the smuggling of sandalwood trees, sag wan trees, and others. These species of trees are both expensive and scarce globally. These trees are used in both medical and cosmetic sciences. Because selling of trees is an expensive business, several incidences of chopping off trees and smuggling have occurred. For many years, the legendary smuggler “Veerappan” trafficked such plants in the forest regions of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. To prevent and reduce smuggling and save trees, various measures must be put into action. It is have worked on a mechanism that it is believe would drastically reduce smuggling. Sandalwood smuggling has caused socio-economic and law and order issues in places bordering Tamil Nadu and other parts of India. The main aim of our research is to save important trees with high market demand, like teak and sandalwood. The system it is have built, makes use of a tilt sensor to identify unlawful tree logging and GPS tracking to obtain the logging tree's locations. It also employs a fire sensor to identify any fire in the monitored area and display an appropriate alert message through the LCD screen, and an Adafruit open-source application. This system's application is limited to areas where expensive and sought-after trees like sandalwood, teak, and rosewood are conserved and safeguarded
