Features of Emotional and Volitional Characteristics of Older Preschool Children With Different Life Satisfaction of Their Mothers

Introduction. The article presents the materials of an empirical study of the features of emotional and volitional characteristics of older preschool children with different life satisfaction of their mothers. Materials and methods. The following psychodiagnostic methods were used to study the emotional and volitional characteristics of older preschool children: the observation method for assessing volitional qualities (A. Vysotsky); the "Fears in houses" method (A. Zakharov, M. Panfilova); the anxiety test (R. Tammle, M. Dorki, V. Amen); the "magical land of feelings" method (T. Grabenko, T. Zinkevich-Evstigneeva, D. Frolova). The following methods were used to diagnose mothers' life satisfaction: the "Life Satisfaction Index" test (N. Panina); the "Diagnosis of social frustration" method (L. Wasserman). Results. The results of a comparative analysis of the values of indicators of emotional and volitional characteristics in boys and girls of senior preschool age, whose mothers have different levels of life satisfaction, are described. The article also analyzes the relationship between the emotional and volitional characteristics of older preschool children and their mothers' satisfaction with various aspects of life. Discussion and conclusion. The majority of married women aged 28-40 who are raising older preschool children are satisfied with their lives. The older women are, the less satisfied they are with the situation in society (the state), their position in society, living conditions and relationships with their parents. The hypothesis that there are differences in emotional and volitional characteristics in older preschool children with different life satisfaction from their mothers has been confirmed. The emotional characteristics of preschool children are more related to their mother's satisfaction with their professional activities and family relationships, but are not related to their financial well-being. The volitional characteristics of boys are associated with such indicators of satisfaction with their mothers' lives as: satisfaction with their relationship with their child, their relationship with their spouse, and their lifestyle. The volitional characteristics of older preschool-age girls are related only to their mothers' satisfaction with the content of their work in general.
