Introduction to the Concept of "Military-Political Literacy" of the Russian National Guard Servicemen

Introduction. In the modern world, military personnel play an important role in ensuring national security and upholding the law. However, without maintaining a high level of moral, political and psychological state of the personnel, it is difficult to ensure the fulfillment of this role. The special military operation (SMO) revealed shortcomings in the formation of value guidelines and basic attitudes not only among the younger generation, but also among military personnel. The quality of the contingent entering military service has shortcomings associated with a low level of literacy, moral principles, patriotism, organization, emotional stability. All this gives rise to a set of problems that must be addressed during the period of service. The article reveals the essence of the concept of military and political literacy of the Russian Guard servicemen, which is the basis for educating their moral and civic qualities as part of military and political training. Materials and methods. The foundation for studying the issue of forming the concept of military-political literacy of the Russian National Guard servicemen were philosophical, pedagogical, historical sources, materials of scientific and pedagogical research devoted to the formation of the foundations of military-political training, materials of the military doctrine of the Russian Federation, a number of Federal Laws of the Russian Federation, and regulatory legal acts of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. The main research method was the axiological method, which ensures the identification of the essence of the content of the concept of military-political literacy, reflecting the specifics of the military-professional activities of the Russian National Guard servicemen. Results. The formulation of the concept of "military-political literacy" of the Russian National Guard servicemen, which has not yet been disclosed in scientific research, is proposed. The definition of this concept allows us to identify the basic components of professional competencies of military personnel, the formation of which is carried out during the period of service within the framework of the "Model Curriculum for Military-Political Training". The contradictions that the security structure, which plays a key role in ensuring the internal security of Russia, faces today are formulated, primarily related to the quality of the contingent entering military service and the complexity of the service and combat tasks to be solved. The analysis of the concepts of political literacy and military literacy allowed us to identify the basis of the military-political terminology and understanding of the processes occurring in the country and the world. Discussion and conclusions. The theoretical justification for the need to formulate the concept of "military-political literacy" of the servicemen of the Russian Guard in the context of existing contradictions in their military-political training allows us to conclude that it is timely to develop the components of this concept, ensuring the formation of a set of knowledge in servicemen about the military aspects of politics, geopolitical processes, the basics of defense and security of the state and personal security.
