Assessment of the Formation of Teenagers’ Value Attitude to Physical Culture and Recreation Activities
Introduction. The study of assessing the formation of a value attitude towards physical recreation activities is relevant in the context of state policy in the field of youth health, requires a scientifically based approach, and has practical significance for the education system and physical education. This article examines the theoretical and practical criteria for assessing the formation of a value attitude towards physical recreation activities among adolescents, analyzes assessment indicators, and methods for diagnosing this process. The novelty of the research lies in the development and justification of criteria for physical recreation activities, the description of their assessment levels, and the justification for the selection of diagnostic methods. Materials and methods. The research methodology included a theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature, generalization, and systematization of scientific provisions and observations. Results. Diagnostic methods are based on theoretical provisions formulated in the works of L. S. Vygotsky, A. N. Leontiev, and V. N. Myasishchev, based on axiological, activity-based, and cognitive approaches.Within the framework of the conducted research, it was revealed that the motivation of adolescents to engage in physical recreation activities is influenced by their needs and values that have been formed. Initially being part of the sociocultural experience, values are not only comprehended and assimilated but also appropriated by the individual, becoming personally significant. Interiorized values determine the value attitude towards physical recreation activities and acquire the function of a catalyst for the needs in physical activity of the individual. This requires assessing the formation of value attitudes of adolescents towards physical recreation activities in two aspects: the development of needs and the formation of values. The structure of the process of forming value attitudes includes cognitive, emotional-volitional, and motivational-behavioral components. In the context of physical recreation activities, they allow for the identification of its meaningful elements for assessment and the description of the levels of their manifestation. The article also shows that the “Hierarchy of Life Values” method by G. V. Rezapkina can be used to determine the value attitude of adolescents towards health. The GTO complex is used to assess physical development. Discussion and conclusion. Thus, the assessment of adolescents’ value attitude towards physical and recreational activities includes cognitive, emotional-volitional, and motivational-behavioral components: understanding the importance of health, interest, and purposefulness, as well as the frequency of activities, interest, and initiative. Their assessment allows us to see the dynamics of adolescents’ value attitude towards physical and recreational activities. The proposed assessment can be carried out in the conditions of general and additional education, including children’s health camp.
