Pragmatic Perspective of Rational Grammar: The Concept of Linguistic Antinomies and Its Realization in Contemporary Political Discourse
The focus is on the analysis of the linguistic dichotomies of "subjective vs. objective", "rational vs. emotional" in a discursive perspective. The goal of research is to identify implementation path linguistic antinomies by example of the text units with the purpose semantics, functioning in the genre of an interview with a political leader. Using the continuous sampling method on the empirical material of Russian mass media, a corpus of relevant linguistic representatives of the purpose semantics was revealed and analyzed from the point of view of their correlation with the levels of the language system and their ranked list is presented from the standpoint of the pragmatic principle of Priority, establishing a relationship between the subjective choice of the grammatical construction and the communicative-semantic significance of a text unit. It has been revealed that the purpose semantics is characterized by a serious resourcefulness of the expression plan, represented by two groups, distinguished on the basis of direct reference to the purpose event (qualifiers) and indirect reference (relators) and possessing different degrees of communicative significance, which in turn determines the hierarchical nature of the organization of linguistic representatives of the purpose semantics within the framework of the communicative paradigm modeled on systemic-linguistic and pragmatic grounds.
