PROTESTANTISM IN THE REGIONAL RELIGIOUS STUDIES OF BASHKORTOSTAN

The article is devoted to the historiography of the study of Protestant confessions of Bashkortostan. It considers the development and research of Protestantism in the context of regional religious studies of Bashkortostan. The historical stages of formation of the historiography of Protestantism are analysed. Special attention is paid to the peculiarities of methodological approaches to the study of Protestantism in Bashkortostan, as well as to the interaction of Protestant communities with other confessions. A conclusion is made about the embryonic state of regional Protestant studies and a number of research tasks are proposed for solution, namely, the creation of a general picture of the history of the emergence and development of Protestant denominations in the region, deepening the ethnological and sociological study of the life and everyday life of parishioners and clergy of Protestant denominations in the region, and others. The work contributes to the deepening of understanding of religious diversity of Bashkortostan and expands the scientific understanding of religious studies in the regional aspect.
