MANIPULATIVE USE OF THEOLOGICAL TEACHINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECRUITMENT INTO EXTREMIST ORGANIZATIONS

The article examines specific manipulative concepts of extremist and terrorist ideologists about the caliphate (Islamic state), about governance not according to the laws of Allah, about the phenomenon of martyrdom and suicide attacks, about the interpretation of the meaning of the testimony of faith (shahada). The author shows how Islamists can convince believers to join the ranks of radicals. The history of the penetration of the suicide terrorism phenomenon into the consciousness of Muslims is considered separately. There is an analyzation and refutation of attempts by extremist ideologists to find a theological explanation for terrorist attacks and extremist activity. There are also the opinions and statements of authoritative Islamic scholars and theologians on these concepts.
