Trends in Dermatopolymyositis Mortality, 1999–2022: A Nationwide Population‐Based Study, United States
DPM mortality decreased at a higher rate than all-cause mortality until the pandemic, when it proportionately increased for both DPM and all causes. Females, younger individuals, and individuals of Black, Hispanic, and non-Hispanic other race and ethnicity had higher DPM mortality relative to all-cause mortality. Findings highlight the need for improved screening, earlier intervention, and targeted efforts to address racial and ethnic disparities in DPM outcomes.
