SMART HELMET WITH IGNITION CONTROL SYSTEM

Road safety among two-wheeler riders remains a significant concern, with helmet non-compliance contributing to many fatalities. This paper presents a cost-effective solution that ensures helmet usage through an RFIDbased ignition control system. The system uses an RFID tag embedded in the helmet and a reader connected to an Arduino microcontroller on the bike. When the helmet is worn, the reader detects the tag, verifies its UID, and activates a relay to enable ignition. If the tag is not detected, ignition remains disabled, thereby enforcing safe riding behaviour.Built with readily available components under 3000, the system integrates basic electronics with automation to promote safety compliance. It is ideal for educational and real-world applications and can be further enhanced with Bluetooth pairing, GPS tracking, and accident detection capabilities.
