Value orientations of police officers as a factor of personnel turnover in the National Police of Ukraine

The article examines the problem of personnel turnover in the National Police of Ukraine through the prism of the value orientations of its employees. The relevance of the study is due to the high level of dismissals among police officers, which negatively affects the effectiveness of law enforcement activities and public trust. The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between the value orientations of police officers and personnel turnover in the National Police of Ukraine. The article examines the theoretical principles of the study of value orientations, their role in the context of law enforcement activities and world experience in studying personnel turnover in the police. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of staff turnover statistics in the National Police of Ukraine for the specified period, identifying the main reasons for dismissals and studying the influence of value orientations on these processes. The works of Ukrainian scientists who study values, value orientations and staff turnover in law enforcement agencies were presented. The specifics of value orientations formed in police officers during professional training and their compliance with organizational values were considered. The influence of external factors, such as police reforms and martial law in the country, on value priorities and the level of staff turnover was analyzed. The conclusions emphasized the importance of value orientations as a factor in staff turnover in the National Police of Ukraine. The high level of voluntary dismissals indicates the need for a deeper understanding of the values of employees and the reasons for their decisions. Further research is recommended to identify specific value orientations of police officers and develop strategies to increase staff retention, including through improved recruitment and training processes, as well as improved organizational culture and working conditions.
