The article is devoted to the legal provision of state security in the border areas of Ukraine by law enforcement agencies and the features of protecting law and order, the rights and freedoms of citizens from possible violations and the creation of favorable conditions in the border area of the state and human life and the principles of existence in the environment. The protection of the state border is contained in the general provisions of legislative acts on these issues, namely: the Law of Ukraine «On the State Border of Ukraine» and «The State Border Service of Ukraine».
