Calcitonin gene-related peptide inhibition: the advent of biologics in rosacea
Persistent facial erythema and flushing in rosacea remain challenging to treat with current therapies. A recent noteworthy open-label trial found that erenumab, a calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor inhibitor, significantly reduced moderate to extreme flushing and erythema in patients with treatment-resistant disease, highlighting a novel neurovascular-targeted therapeutic approach.
