DETERMINATION OF PRIORITY DIRECTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE UKRAINIAN GAS STATION MARKET IN A SATURATED COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT

This article is devoted to the study of priority directions for the development of corporate social responsibility in the gas station market of Ukraine in conditions of increased competition. The research is highly relevant due to the saturation of the Ukrainian fuel market and the growing demands of consumers for socially responsible business practices. The aim of the study is to identify priority areas for CSR development and develop practical recommendations for their implementation in the activities of gas station operators. The research methodology is based on system analysis, comparative analysis of international experience, expert evaluation methods, statistical data processing, and matrix analysis for prioritization of CSR initiatives. The current state of the gas station market is analyzed, and the main challenges and opportunities for implementing socially responsible practices are identified. The study reveals that the current level of CSR development in the Ukrainian gas station market is moderate (3.5 points out of 5), indicating significant potential for improvement. International experience in developing social responsibility in the fuel industry is researched, showing the effectiveness of integrated approaches focused on sustainable development and innovative technologies. Based on a comprehensive analysis, a model of priority directions of social responsibility for Ukrainian gas stations is proposed, which includes environmental, social and economic components. The study identifies environmental safety operations, development of alternative fuel types, and programs for local communities as the highest priority areas. Key performance indicators for the implementation of socially responsible initiatives are defined, including environmental metrics (CO2 emissions reduction, share of alternative fuels), social indicators (investments in local communities, employee satisfaction), and economic performance measures (customer loyalty growth, reputation ratings improvement). Practical recommendations are substantiated for improving competitiveness through the implementation of CSR strategies, including the introduction of environmental monitoring systems, development of educational programs in regions of presence, and creation of favorable working environments. A monitoring and evaluation system for social responsibility programs is developed to ensure sustainable development of industry enterprises. The practical value of the article lies in the possibility of using the developed model and recommendations by managers of gas station networks to improve their competitive position through the implementation of effective social responsibility programs, as well as by government bodies to develop appropriate regulatory policies. The research contributes to the theoretical understanding of CSR in the fuel industry and provides actionable insights for practitioners seeking to enhance their social responsibility initiatives in a competitive market environment.
