Estudio sobre las percepciones de maestros y estudiantes del Núcleo 934 (Medellín, Colombia) sobre su desempeño en el área de las Ciencias Sociales para el quinto curso
One key goal in the social sciences instruction in primary schools is the optimization of teaching-learning processes through a study into their strengths and limitations of the participants. With this in mind, our study placed the focus on teaching-learning processes among fifth graders in the 934 School District in Medellín, Colombia. A questionnaire was conducted that targeted a group of teachers and students using a quantitative method approach that explored the same categories and subcategories in a Likert scale. Among other things, we explored the question as to why the data collected by the Pruebas Saber test showed that 56% of the fifth graders failed to score beyond the B level, the lowest in the test. After contrasting the results of our study, it was observed that the testees reached an intermediate level in the categories analyzed, the teaching-learning processes, as well as the articulating axes in the social sciences area.
