Encuentro entre escuela y territorio: espacio de reflexión curricular

The main objective of the project presented in this text, financed by the COTEC Foundation, is none other than to generate a situation of encounter and dialogue between the school actors and the territory that hosts them. The aim was to involve them in the co-generation of critical and emancipatory knowledge about their reality, in time and space, by encouraging the people involved. Knowledge that, despite being inspired by the school curriculum, seeks to transcend it, re-territorialise it and decolonise it in order to work with what is most immediate. In short, the appropriate methodological strategies were established in order to make “case-based thinking” effective in the neighbourhood of El Cabanyal (Valencia). The most outstanding findings, always referring to the micro-space, point to the empowerment of the groups involved through the use of resources such as narrative enquiry, equal rights or the ability to communicate an idea to others.
