TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NON-TRADITIONAL ENERGY SOURCES IN RUSSIA

This paper analyzes the development trends of unconventional energy sources (NES) in Russia, their current state and prospects for use. The main factors constraining the introduction of renewable technologies are investigated, as well as the economic, environmental and social significance of the transition to clean energy is assessed. Special attention is paid to the potential of various types of NIE (solar, wind, geothermal, bioenergy and small hydropower), depending on the regional characteristics of the country. Based on international experience and domestic capabilities, it is concluded that it is necessary to strengthen state support and modernize energy infrastructure to ensure a steady increase in the share of NIE in Russia's energy mix.
