PREHEATING SYSTEM FOR DIESEL ENGINES WITH THERMAL PHASE TRANSITION ACCUMULATOR

The article describes the application of phase transition processes for the thermal treatment of diesel engines, especially at low temperatures, presented in the article. It examines the main problems of cold start, such as increased viscosity of oil and fuel, insufficient compression level and uneven engine heating. The basic properties of phase transition materials (FPM), their classification and principles of operation in thermal storage systems are also described. The article presents mathematical models of phase transition processes, as well as the results of experimental studies of the efficiency of using FPM in preheating systems. The prospects of introducing this technology into transport and industrial systems in order to increase reliability, reduce fuel consumption and reduce harmful emissions were noted.
