Event‐based H∞$$ {\mathcal{H}}_{\infty } $$ load frequency control for power systems subject to Markov jump parameters and actuator faults

Abstract This paper studies event‐based secure load frequency control for power systems subject to Markov jump parameters and actuator faults. First, an dynamic event‐triggered control mechanism is employed in the communication between the controller and the sensor to efficiently reduce communication congestion. Subsequently, to cope with system parameter mutations and actuator failures caused by the external environment or equipment aging, a fault‐tolerant control scheme with Markov jump parameters is addressed. Then, multiple sufficient conditions are established based on the stated performance index to ensure the mean‐square asymptotic stability of the closed‐loop system using the Lyapunov stability theory and a variety of inequality approaches. Finally, examples are given to verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.
