Development of a Micro-Vibration Sensor for Manufacturing Processes Using Aligned PVDF/BaTiO₃ Nanofibers

Micro-vibrations in manufacturing processes can disrupt precision control and negatively affect the health of workers. In this study, aligned polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibers were fabricated via electrospinning, and barium titanate (BaTiO 3 ) was deposited on them to enhance their piezoelectric properties. The sensor was constructed by attaching copper electrodes and aluminum conductors to both sides of a nanofiber web. The sensor exhibited excellent sensitivity to Micro-vibrations and maintained a stable output, even after repeated measurements. Its performance in the low-frequency range was particularly effective, demonstrating great durability. This approach involving BaTiO 3 -coated aligned PVDF nanofibers offers promising applications in vibration-sensing and energy-harvesting technologies. Furthermore, the proposed sensor has the potential to play a critical role in future industrial and health-monitoring systems.
