Effects of Adolescent Grit, Parental Supervision, and Academic Stress on Self-regulated Learning

This study attempted to analyze the effect of adolescents' grit, parental supervision, and academic stress on self-regulated learning. To this end, questions related to grit, parental supervision, academic stress, and self-regulated learning were used among the data of the 2022 Korean Children's Panel Survey. The subjects of this study were 1,294 second-grade middle school students, and the SPSS 27.0 program was used. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that grit had a significant effect on self-regulated learning. Second, parental supervision was found to have a significant effect on self-regulated learning. Third, it was found that academic stress had a significant effect on self-regulated learning. Therefore, in order to improve self-regulated learning competency, it is necessary to develop a program that can cultivate grit, which is a personal characteristic of adolescents, strengthen appropriate supervision and intervention of parents, and relieve academic stress.
