Analyzing Korean College Students’ Use of AI Feedback in a Process-oriented English Writing Task

The purpose of this research was to analyze how Korean college students have processed their English drafts, using feedback from AI tools in a process-oriented writing task. Research questions are as follows; First, what changes would English draft I, II, III, and the final draft go through? Second, what are the students' perceptions and attitudes toward the AI use? The English draft I, II, III, and final drafts written by students were analyzed by Grammarly (2022), and the group interview with students were analyzed by Miles & Huberman's (1994) qualitative analysis method. The results showed that first, the scores indicating the quality of writing continued to increase, and errors in words and sentences gradually decreased during the writing process. Second, the students selected and used AI feedback while maintaining a critical attitude toward AI feedback. Third, the students showed a positive attitude toward the AI use in the classroom.
