TRATAMENTO FISIOTERAPÊUTICO PARA PREVENÇÃO DE QUEDAS EM IDOSOS NO AMBIENTE DOMICILIAR
The aging population has increased significantly in Brazil, highlighting the need for effective strategies to promote health and prevent health issues among the elderly. Among the most recurrent problems in this population are falls, which directly impact autonomy, safety, and quality of life. Home-based physiotherapy emerges as an effective alternative, as it allows for personalized treatment and preventive action within the patient’s environment. This study aimed to identify the most effective physiotherapeutic methods for preventing falls in elderly individuals at home. To this end, a systematic literature review was conducted, selecting studies published between 2016 and 2025 in the PubMed, SciELO, and PEDro databases. A total of 25 studies were analyzed, which demonstrated the effectiveness of multicomponent programs involving muscle strengthening exercises, balance training, proprioception, and postural reeducation. The results showed a reduction in fall frequency and functional improvement in elderly patients treated at home. It is concluded that home-based physiotherapy is a relevant intervention capable of promoting active aging and preventing complications related to falls, contributing to greater autonomy, safety, and well-being among the elderly.
