ASMR Media Product in Mass Digital Media

In recent years, ASMR media products have become widespread in the digital media space, and their popularity arouses interest among consumers of the modern entertainment industry and encourages researchers to study this phenomenon. The focus of the article is on the analysis of the sound component of ASMR media products, which identifies the way a person interacts with sound at the stages of its production and listening practices. Based on the results of the review of the characteristic features of auditory stimuli (triggers) used for ASMR, it is demonstrated how, in the context of mass leisure consumption, sounds that are not artistic means for composing music can become sources for creating entertainment content. It is concluded that focusing consumers’ attention on the highly detailed (exaggerated) sounds of ASMR media products contributes to the emergence of a modern person’s tendency to enjoy sounds that were not previously in his field of attention.
