IMPACT OF BUSINESS ETHICS ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE - A STUDY OF PZ CUSSONS PLC ABA, ABIA STATE)

Business ethics enhances the law by outlining acceptable behaviour beyond government control. Corporations set up business ethics to promote integrity among their employees and gain trust from key stakeholders, such as investors and consumers. The study examined the impact of business ethics on Organizational Performance (A Study of PZ Cussons Plc Aba, Abia State. Primary data were sourced through the instrument of questionnaire that was issued to the respondents. Survey design was adopted in the study and the questionnaires were distributed to two hundred (200) staff of PZ Cussons Plc, Aba, Abia State. A test-re-test was conducted to ensure validity and reliability of the data. The data were analyzed using simple percentage, frequency and, multiple regressions were used in testing the stated hypotheses. The descriptive result revealed that majority (61.1%) of the respondents rated the impact of ethical practice on organizational performance to be very high, followed by those who rated the impact of ethical practice on organizational performance with 33.3% and the least were those who rated the impact to very low with 1.7%. The study revealed that there was significant impact of business ethical practices on organizational performance and that there was strong relationship between ethic and organizational performance. It was recommended that management of PZ Cussons Plc Aba, Abia State should adhered to the business ethics since this will enhance performance of their businesses
