EFEK VARIASI KONSENTRASI CMC NA SEBAGAI BINDER PADA FORMULASI TABLET HISAP EKSTRAK KULIT BUAH NAGA MERAH (HYLOCERCEUS POLYRHIZUS).

Dragon fruit peels are often considered waste and left unused, even though they contain high amounts of antioxidants. In this study, lozenges made from dragon fruit peel extract were utilized. Since lozenges require adequate hardness, a binder is essential. Sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-Na) is expected to serve as an effective physical binder. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of CMC-Na as a binder in lozenges containing dragon fruit peel extract by examining their physical properties. Three formulations with varying concentrations of CMC-Na 2% (F1), 4% (F2), and 6% (F3) were tested. Each formulation was assessed for weight uniformity, size uniformity, hardness, friability, and disintegration time to identify the optimal formula. The data from weight uniformity, size uniformity, hardness, and disintegration time were analyzed statistically using a one-way ANOVA test at a 95% confidence level. If the significance value was less than 0.05, a post hoc test was conducted to determine significant differences among the formulas. The results demonstrated that the concentrations of CMC-Na at 2%, 4%, and 6% in the dragon fruit peel extract lozenge formulation had a significant effect on the lozenges’ hardness, friability, and disintegration time.
