Performance Comparison of PHP, Python, and Node.js in Web Development

This paper presents a comprehensive performance comparison and evaluation of three widely used web development technologies-PHP, Python (with Django/Flask), and Node.js.These technologies have powered countless web applications and are integral to the modern web development landscape. The study evaluates them based on execution speed, scalability, learning curve, ecosystem, and real-world use cases.A benchmarking process was performed using standardized scenarios to measure request handling efficiency, response time, and CPU memory utilization. The results highlight the strengths and limitations of each technology and provide insight into choosing the best-fit stack depending on project requirements. The study aims to guide developers and organizations in selecting the most suitable backend technology for web applications.
