Oxytropis oyunmaae sp. nov. (Fabaceae) from Khuvsgul province, Mongolia

Oxytropis oyunmaae (Fabaceae) is described as a new species from the Khangai phytogeographical region of Mongolia. Morphologically, the new species is most similar to Oxytropis pavlovii , but differs from the latter in its pods, which are not inflated, leathery, oblong‐linear (versus inflated, membranous, globose), and calyx, which is campanulate (versus tubular). Regarding pod shape, it is also similar to Oxytropis myriophylla , but differs in its pods being oblong‐linear (versus ovoid‐oblong) and leaflets in 8–10 whorls, with 3 or 4 blades per whorl (versus 12–16(–50) whorls, 4–8 blades per whorl). In this paper, we present a complete description of the new species, along with details of its conservation status, distribution and photographic illustrations.
