Data Set of Reinforced Concrete Prisms Tested with Various Loading Characteristics and Longitudinal Reinforcement Ratios
A series of tests of reinforced concrete (RC) prisms representing the end regions of RC walls were conducted at the University of Auckland to investigate the performance of lightly reinforced concrete walls subjected to dynamic loading rates expected during earthquakes. The experimental program comprised 15 RC prisms with varying longitudinal reinforcement contents that were subjected to three different rates of monotonic and cyclic loading. The experimental data and documentation recorded throughout the test program have provided a high-quality data set for improving the state of knowledge regarding the effect of earthquake loading history and loading rate on the local behavior of RC sections and walls with minimum required longitudinal reinforcement. The test data are also useful to validate numerical models that capture the cracking behavior and deformation capacity of RC prisms and walls. This paper provides a detailed description of the test program and available data, and the corresponding data set is published and publicly available on DesignSafe-CI with the project number PRJ-4079.
