Numerical Simulation of Effects of Localized Heat Source on the Electrochemical Performance of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Based on COMSOL
Effects of localized thermal anomalies on the temperature distribution and electrochemical performance of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) were investigated with a threedimensional (3D) steady-state model built by COMSOL. A comparative analysis of power output was conducted under varying temperatures of localized heat source against scenarios without thermal perturbations. Results demonstrate that localized heat source modulate electrochemical reaction rates and temperature map of SOFC, and affect the stability.
