Set-membership Estimation for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor via Ellipsoid bundle-based Kalman Filter

A new ellipsoid bundle-based set-membership estimation method is proposed for permanent magnet synchronous motor in this paper. A discrete-time linear system with time-varying parameters is firstly established to describe the electrodynamics model and mechanical equation of permanent magnet synchronous motor. Based on the determined system, an ellipsoid bundlebased Kalman filter is designed to realize the set-membership estimation. Especially, the filter gain matrix is determined based on the trace optimization techniques, which requires less computation and has better real-time performance. Simulation of a permanent magnet synchronous motor system is utilized to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the presented approach.
