Finite-Time Sliding Mode Observer Based Control for Diesel Engine Air Path System with Actuator Faults
This paper proposed a novel finite-time disturbance observer based on sliding mode control method, and an adaptive fault-tolerant controller is designed for the diesel engine air path system. Initially, system uncertainties and external disturbance are considered, thus the finite-time disturbance observer is established to estimate the synchronized uncertainties. Then, to deal with the actuator fault including loss-of-effectiveness and additive fault, an adaptive integral sliding mode control law is constructed. Combined with the disturbance observer, the proposed fault-tolerant control scheme ensures manifold pressure tracking performance of the diesel engine air path system even under the synchronized uncertainties and the actuator faults. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed disturbance observer based fault-tolerant control law is validated with numerical simulation results.
