Structural Parameters on Boiling Heat Transfer Performance for Sintered Pin-Finned Array

Developing superior structure to enhance boiling heat transfer is currently of great attention. This article focuses on the boiling heat transfer performance in the sintered Pin-finned array structure. The influence of array number, namely fin spacing, is studied in detail. Three types of pin-finned array, 5, 7, and 9 arrays, were selected. The inlet temperature was maintained at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$60^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$</tex>. There existed an optimal fin column. The PF-90-7 exhibited the best boiling heat transfer performance which had the lowest wall superheat in high heat flux. The pressure fluctuation is effectively alleviated compared to the other two array-number samples. At a mass flux of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$208 ~\text{kg} /\left(\mathrm{m}^{2} \cdot ~\mathrm{s}\right)$</tex>, PF-90-7 could reached <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$243 ~\mathrm{W} / \text{cm}^{2}$</tex> in CHF. Too sparse array number means the reduction of evaporation area, while overly dense arrays cause large flow resistance and lead to poor liquid supply. The increase in mass flux effectively promotes boiling heat transfer coefficient and CHF.
