Software Based Performance Evaluation of Data Encryption Algorithms
Data encryption techniques protect sensitive information in different fields, including finance, healthcare, communication, and national security. This paper provides a thorough security assessment and performance examination of different data encryption algorithms, including symmetric block ciphers, asymmetric encryption algorithms, lightweight block ciphers and chaotic encryption techniques. The cipher's performance is measured and reported based on their throughput. The effectiveness of encryption methods is evaluated using Avalanche effect, Entropy Analysis, MSE Analysis and adjacent pixel correlation Analysis. The results show that AES has strong security and balanced performance, while RSA is robust but computationally intensive. Resourceconstrained devices benefit from lightweight ciphers like LiCi and Present, which have high throughput and good security. The Logistic Map and other chaotic methods have high entropy and low correlation, making them suitable for multimedia encryption.
