AI Powered Crop Protection for Sustainable and Informed Farm Practices
The research presents a crop protection system based on artificial intelligence that helps farmers gain access to precise and sustainable disease management through an online platform. The web interface allows farmers to upload images of their diseased crops to a CNN model to receive real-time predictions about diseases alongside recommended treatments and soil care protocols. From the publicly available Plant Village dataset on Kaggle, we selected a subset containing images of 15 crops and 65 disease classes for our system, which showed an accuracy of 92.57 % in its operations. Through this method, farmers gain access to real-time agricultural intelligence and achieve pesticide reduction while promoting ecological farming.
