Peranan Sektor Pariwisata Terhadap Perekonomian Di Kabupaten Minahasa Utara

This study aims to analyze the role of the tourism sector, represented by the accommodation, food, and beverage subsector, in the economy of North Minahasa Regency. The method used is a quantitative approach with analytical techniques including contribution analysis to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Location Quotient (LQ) analysis. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Sulawesi Province and North Minahasa Regency for the period 2019–2023. The results show that the contribution of the tourism sector to the GRDP remains low, averaging 0.98%. The LQ calculation result indicates that the tourism sector is not yet a basic sector, with an LQ value of less than 1 (0.49). However, this sector shows potential in labor absorption and as a driver of the regional economy. Cross-sectoral policies are needed to support the tourism sector in becoming a backbone of local economic development.
