Museum Practice in the Design Space of Great Britain
The article provides a general overview of materials related to museum practice within the design sphere in the United Kingdom. It demonstrates that British design museums employ qualified professionals who have received specialized postgraduate education in this field. The article presents data on the organizational forms through which this education is delivered in British higher education institutions. It also offers information about museum collections, which are classified into two categories: those that present the history of design through their exhibits, and those composed exclusively of contemporary design works. The article outlines the key characteristics of research approaches applied to these types of collections. It is noted that understanding the materials presented in the article, along with the outcomes of further research in this area, will contribute to addressing the gap in one of the most vital aspects of the intellectualization of design practice in Ukraine.
