Prevention of Violent Crime at the Present Stage

Тhe article examines the criminological features of violent crime; identifies the current factors of violent crime; distinguishes between general and special measures to prevent violent crime; determines the most effective measures to prevent the crime in question in the context of modern Russian society. Materials and methods: the research materials were: the legislative framework, in terms of qualification and prevention of violent crime, statistical indicators of registered violent crimes. The factors of violent crime were considered, the properties of violent crime were analyzed. It was determined that at the legislative level, issues of prevention and counteraction should be provided by current scientific and practical data, built through the analysis of statistical data and indicators of reality for the past period of time. Discussion and conclusion: the author points out the need to expand the range of use of law enforcement forces and means, taking into account the vulnerability of certain categories of the civilian population.
